Soil-Regenerating pellets for Climate-Resilient agriculture

Symactiv’s pellets transform degraded soils into thriving ecosystems, boosting crop yields by 15–30% and improving water retention by 20%. Made from local circular biomass, they reduce synthetic inputs and empower farmers to grow sustainably. Proven in 40+ Swiss farms, including Jucker Farm, our solution is scaling to regenerate Switzerland’s agricultural heartland.

What issue does your project address, and why do you want to tackle it?

Soil degradation and climate stress are eroding food security, forcing farmers to rely on costly, unsustainable inputs. Symactiv’spellets regenerate soil microbiomes, cutting chemical use while increasing yields and water efficiency. We tackle this because healthy soil is the foundation of resilient agriculture and a sustainable food future for Switzerland.

What is your project about and how does it help nurture tomorrow's Switzerland?

The project is to use our pellets to restore agricultural land in Switzerland. First through field trials and later to replace synthetic fertiliser. Symactiv’s pellets combine mushroom substrate and various natural materials to restore soil biology. By improving soil structure and reducing CO₂ emissions, we help Swiss farmers adapt to climate change, secure food production, and build a sustainable agricultural legacy for generations to come.

How do you measure your project's success?

Success is measured via yield data, soil tests, and farmer feedback, with trials outcome assessment/data collection. We are working for detailed measurements for disease resistance, plant health and CO2 mitigation potential.
Goals for the project (50k CHF): Regenerate 30 farms in Switzerland. CO₂ savings and biodiversity improvements are also key metrics.

Who are the people behind the project and what is your secret to a great collaboration?

Our team unites agronomy (Yannick Orrù, HAFL), business (Louis Becker, UNIL), biotech (Philippe Schläpfer, ZHAW), finance (Alana Amaro, 65M€+ raised previously), and microbiology (Hassan Mustapha, ETH/FiBL). Secret? Shared passion for regenerative agriculture, transparent communication, and hands-on field experience with farmers.
